Never give up, always believe

To the editor: Each year during Christmas at Historic Fort Steuben, we put out a genuine mailbox. The fort provides a table next to the mailbox where children and anyone else wishing to can write a letter to Santa Claus expressing their wishes for present of toys, clothing and games. We have observed over the years that it’s not just children who are writing letters, but teenagers and adults. Each evening, I collect the pieces of paper in the mailbox and read each and every one. To the editor: Democrat James Carville described Joe Biden as “the most tragic figure in modern politics.” Biden can best be described as corrupt, incompetent, arrogant, immoral and deceitful. What Biden and his Democrats have done to our country is tragic. Biden claimed to be an expert on foreign policy. To the editor: Review the following dictates: The greater the lie, the more chance of it being believed. Be crude and violent in form, utterly unscrupulous in substance. Transform support from the middle class to the working class. The press must be under complete control of the party. Whoever can conquer the streets will one day conquer the state. All judges must be loyal to the movement. Repetition of effective arguments — arguments must be clear and forcible. Truth is unimportant. To the editor: Today is Nov. 26. It is nine months since my son and best friend passed away. My son is Anthony Gaylord DiCarlantonio. It was his 36th birthday. It is pain I would not wish on anybody. As anyone who knows me (and my Anthony) knows, I am a huge Big Red fan. We just finished up with football. What an awesome season we had. My Anthony and I went to every game together. It included my dad and Anthony’s Pap before he passed away. This year I had to go by myself. It was so hard, but I went to every game and cheered Big Red on. Being part of Big Red nation ...

To the editor: It sadly appears obvious that President-elect Donald J. Trump constantly exaggerates what he perceives to be of a positive nature regarding every aspect of his persona, as well as what he perceives as his personal achievements. An example of his outlandish self-aggrandizement is that Trump stated that his victory in the presidential election was “an unprecedented and powerful mandate,” and that he won in a landslide.
