How was your Mother’s Day?

To the editor: Like a lot of folks my age, Mother’s Day is a complicated time. It marks the loss of the person who was always in your corner. No matter how tough the opponent was or how badly beaten emotionally or physically, she had always been there to apply ointments or prepare a bowl of chicken soup. In my case, it was the anniversary of her 2007 surgery, which her strong will carried through all almost dying in the operating room, the way my father had in 2004, three years earlier. Gas lighting the public on a toxic gas

To the editor: Recent articles about a multi-state carbon capture and storage hub gives unsuspecting readers an opinion that it is basically a reversed pipeline carrying CO2 from industrial sites, to an injection site, pumping the waste thousands of feet underground with very little risk to the public. What they don’t tell you is, when a line burst the CO2 under a higher-than-normal pressure will blow hundreds of feet into the air, then fall back to earth causing a ‘Death plume area’. To the editor: A message to Trump’s supporters: I suspect we’re all familiar with a document known as the Declaration of Independence. Or at least we’re probably all familiar with the Preamble. If you’re unfamiliar with the entirety of the document, it’s included in that Trump Bible you bought but never read. In the general context, the word derangement means a disturbance or disruption in the mental or physical state. Accordingly, this word is now included when defining and diagnosing those of us who did not vote for President Donald Trump and who do not support him and his policies.
