To the editor:

The sign along Sunset Boulevard reads, “Democrats Put People First, Always Have, Always Will.” The Democrat Party was the topic of a recent episode of “Life, Liberty and Levin” with guest Victor Davis Hanson. Levin and Hanson discussed the history of the Democrat party to date.

The Democrats were the party of slavery. After the Civil War, the Democrats instituted segregation, which resulted in mistreatment of Black citizens. Democrats fought integration of schools leading to poor quality education for Black children. Lyndon Johnson’s War on Poverty actually lead to more poverty for Blacks, placing them in poorly-run public housing in segregated neighborhoods. The Ku Klux Klan grew out of the Democrat party and terrorized black people. The late Democrat West Virginia Sen. Robert Byrd was a top official in the KKK.

The present-day Democrats have used many techniques to try to control people. The Democrats used the race card and open borders to try to gain power. Obama caused divisions between the races, telling blacks that they were victims and that society owed them. Hanson called Biden “the president that never was,” explaining that due to Biden’s mental deficits, we have no idea who was running our country for four years. The Biden administration tried to take away our First Amendment right to free speech by developing a “disinformation committee.” It was dissolved, but not before the Biden administration coerced social media sources to censor the speech of “dissenters”.

The Democrats complain that Trump is using the Insurrection Act to take total control of the country. This act has been used by 28 presidents from both parties throughout history. The Democrats are using judges appointed by Democrat presidents to constantly block Trump’s agenda. The Supreme Court has already ruled that regional judges cannot rule on national issues, but the Democrat-appointed judges are still using those measures to try to thwart Trump’s powers.

Hanson reported that the progressive section of the Democrat party has been working for the past 30 years to change our country into a neo-socialist state. This started by educating young people in K-12 and higher education with misinformation about our country, leading to many people not believing in the United States and our way of government.

Trump believes in the United States and our Constitution. He is addressing the root causes of the problems in our country. The majority of American citizens agree with Trump, not the Democrat policies. The Democrats want “power without popular support.”

Democrats in Congress have refused to pass a clean continuing resolution even though they have passed this same resolution several times. The Democrats have shut down our government. Non-essential government workers have been furloughed and could lose their jobs. Funds for WIC and salaries for our military are not available. Trump is working to find money to fund these necessary programs. Democrats in Congress are still getting paid for not doing their jobs and don’t care what programs and services are cut. What people do Democrats put first?
