Questions about landfill odors

We are fortunate that the Herald-Star covered the recent meeting of the Jefferson County Board of Health.
We learned that one board member stated that the odors attributed to Apex Landfill might instead be coming from cattle farms. I know the Ohio Valley pretty well and for a long period of time. Cattle live on many properties throughout our region, but I have yet to hear of complaints that cover as many years, and at such a scale, as we have seen in our area.
Most human beings are apt to be a little blind to reality at times. What we might have here is simply a case of not seeing the forest for the tipping fees.
