For a stronger energy future

To the editor: Tackling the dual challenge of increasing energy production while decreasing emissions is at the core of energy conversations today. The Tri-State Area has the chance to be a leader in energy production and environmental progress by developing new technologies and innovations, including carbon capture, as discussed in “Hancock commission hears about carbon capture project” (Dec. 15.) To the editor: Last weekend, the letter “Why I left Democrat Party” by Michalene King expounded her arguments for switching from the party of Kennedy to the party of Donald Trump. (Let’s face it, it’s not Lincoln’s party anymore.) Her reasons are, of course, hers to hold, and she’s entitled to her own quest; but if the intention was a persuasive argument for following her example, I dare say, it won’t win many converts. To the editor: We know of the creator-given rights mentioned in the Declaration of Independence of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Are these rights just for us who are born, or do they apply in all stages of life? “You brought my inner parts into being, you wove me in my mother’s womb.” (Psalms 139:13,14) Anyone with a conscience intact was appalled at the atrocities that took place in Israel on Oct. 7. To the editor: The Steubenville American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 33 wants to thank all the people who volunteered and all the businesses who donated their support to our American veterans Christmas party on Dec. 7. We had overwhelming support from our Steubenville Police Chief Kenny Anderson and other officers, Capt. Experience matters in commissioner race

To the editor: I am Tom Graham asking you for your support as a Jefferson County commissioner. I will be a full-time commissioner. This is a huge job and experience matters. Many have asked me why I do this. I do this to help, to give you a voice. I do it to give back to the community that has blessed me so much. I am a commissioner for the masses of people. Why I left Democrat Party

To the editor: A recent letter to the editor from the Chairman of the Jefferson County Democrat Party invited Republicans who were once Democrats to return to the Democrat Party (“Proud Democrats fighting for you,” Nov. 26.) I will explain why I left the Democrat Party and cannot in good conscience return. I left the Democrat Party during the Clinton administration.
