To the editor: On Page 30 of “The Work Ahead Machines, Skills and U.S. Leadership in the Twenty-First Century,” published by the Council of Foreign Relations, it states “For most Americans, their educational choices will be the most economically consequential decision they make in their lives.” Local high Schools need to offer the 10 digital skills that can make students instantly employable in 2024. The state of our county

To the editor: I attended the State of the County program that was held this past Tuesday at Steubenville High School. It was a nice attempt by the panel, who were all Republicans, to spin information and take credit for all the so-called positive things happening in Jefferson County. The local Republicans who put this event on did not have one local elected Democratic official on stage to share their perspective. In addition, they did not allow any questions from the audience. To the editor: According to the Jan. 25 edition of the Dallas News, there have been 26.313 forced-birth rape victims in Texas since that state’s total abortion ban has been enacted. Remember in 2021, when Gov. Greg Abbott vowed to eliminate rapists from the streets of Texas after intentionally excluding exceptions for victims of rape and incest? To the editor: With the death of Vladimir Putin’s rival, Alexei Navalny, comparisons are emerging with Putin’s treatment of his opponents and Joe Biden Democrat’s treatment of Donald Trump, Biden’s apparent opponent in this year’s election. Concerns about age appropriateness

To the editor: Currently located in the children’s section of the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County is the book, “This Day in June ‘’ by Gail Pitman, a cartoon illustrated text describing the events of a Pride parade. The theme of this book, as written by the author, is to: “Provide facts about LGBT history and culture.” There are pages in this book illustrating a man with a stubbled beard, dressed as a nun in a white and black traditional Catholic habit with a rosary around her neck.
