Growing up for a big check

To the editor: Singer Lady Gaga, always a mindless, unquestioning ally of the LGBTQ bloc, has “called out the hatred” directed toward annoying transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. The great Lady, shocked by its vehemence, called it appalling. Only the most proudly tolerant liberals, I suppose, are permitted to be so rabidly and fervently intolerant. When someone puts themselves out there in a controversial position, they take the chance they’ll get some disapproval. Mulvaney, 27, somehow, some way, was chosen to be the face of transgenderism in America. This shameless, ...

Hypocrisy of House Republicans

To the editor: Republican members of the United States House of Representatives, following a 15-month-long investigation, and counting, in an attempt to find an impeachable offense against current President Joe Biden, reportedly have discovered no such evidence that would serve to implicate that Biden had committed high crimes and misdemeanors that could lead to his removal from office. The alleged wrong-doing committed by Biden, as per House Republicans, is based on the unsubstantiated, and now disproven, assumption that Biden, during his tenure as vice president under President ...

Area needs four-year school

To the editor: Here we go again, blocking positive progress ... We need a public, state, four-year university in Steubenville, not another community college or junior college. Our high school graduates deserve an opportunity to earn a certificate, associate degree, bachelor, master or doctoral degree right here. This should not be a two-year college, requiring students to go elsewhere to complete a four-year degree. Our young men and women are just as good as students elsewhere. They deserve to have the same opportunities as students in all other four-year universities across ...

FDA action needed on vapes

To the editor: As a former Wellsville councilman and member of the Wellsville board of education, I am deeply concerned about the well-being of our children. I urge the federal government to prioritize the issue of flavored disposable vapes, which have become increasingly popular among youth. Currently, the Food and Drug Administration has authorized only 23 e-cigarette products for sale, all of which are tobacco-flavored and intended for adults. However, many fruity, colorful, and kid-friendly flavored vape products are readily available to children. These unregulated vapes are ...

Furthermore, I am immensely grateful for the paramount importance ...

Misinformation or fact-checking?

To the editor: The following is the difference between misinformation and fact-checking: “The Presidential Records Act of 1978 can be found in full splendor in the safekeeping of the National Archives. It states: ‘Any records created or received by the president as part of his constitutional, statutory or ceremonial duties are the property of the U.S. government and will be managed by NARA at the end of the administration. “When it comes to the office of the president, all official documents belong to history. They are ours for posterity.” (archives.com) In the last ...
