Golden Bears top Monarchs
NEW MANCHESTER — The Oak Glen boys basketball team picked up an impressive early season win on Tuesday, topping John Marshall 76-59.
The win evens the Golden Bears record at 1-1.
The Bears led 23-20 after a high-scoring opening quarter and held a 43-30 lead at halftime, pushing the lead further with at least 20 points in the first three quarters.
Gavin Geisse led Oak Glen with a game-high 33 points, while Elijah Knisely talled 12 and Will Weekley netted 10 to put three in double figures.
The Bears host East Palestine on Saturday night.
Panthers fall to East Liverpool
CONNORVILLE — The Buckeye Local boys basketball team dropped a 67-34 decision to East Liverpool on Tuesday.
The Panthers, now 0-5, were led by 10 points from Hayden Wilhelm, who hit a pair of 3-pointers.
The Panthers host Edison on Friday.
Huskies fall to Beavers
CALCUTTA — The Harrison Central boys basketball team dropped a 62-43 decision at undefeated Beaver Local on Tuesday, falling to 0-4.
Bryson Kamarec led the Huskies with a game-high 24 points.
The Huskies are at East Liverpool on Friday night.

Morgantown sweeps meet
WELLSBURG — Morgantown swept the overall, boys and girls team scoring in a tri at Brooke Tuesday.
Brooke’s Kiersten Harveth (100 back, 200 IM), Faith Farrell (50 free), Lindsey Kettler (200 free) and Aiden Stock (100 free) won individual events.
