WEIRTON — The City of Weirton is seeking its next group of youthful advisers. Applications currently are being accepted for those interested in taking part in the 2026-2027 term of the Weirton Youth Council. “The last day to apply is Sept. 14,” explained Ward 5 Councilwoman Brittany Holloway during Tuesday's meeting of Weirton Council. Holloway serves as one of the advisers for the program, which was started as a pilot program in 2025 and renewed in the spring. Tearin’ Up the Turf turns 21 RICHMOND — Area high school marching bands will gather Sept. 12 for Tearin’ Up the Turf XXI at Cartwright Memorial Stadium at the Edison Unified Sports Complex.
