Adena man pleads guilty

WHEELING — An Adena man has pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute illegal drugs in the upper Ohio Valley.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of West Virginia said Brady McKinley, 46, admitted to conspiring to sell large quantities of fentanyl and cocaine in Ohio County and elsewhere and faces up to 20 years in federal prison at sentencing.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Carly Nogay is prosecuting the case, which was investigated by the Ohio Valley Drug Task Force, Marshall County Drug Task Force and the Hancock-Brooke-Weirton Drug Task Force, all HIDTA-funded initiatives; the Drug Enforcement Administration; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms; West Virginia State Police; Wheeling Police Department; Ohio County Sheriff’s Department; and the Belmont County Sheriff’s Department.

U.S. Magistrate Judge James P. Mazzone presided at the plea hearing.

SVRTA sets holiday schedule

STEUBENVILLE — In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, Steel Valley Regional Transit Authority will not be operate bus service, and the offices will be closed on Thursday.

Also, SVRTA will not operate on Nov. 28, and the offices will be closed, Regular Saturday schedule will resume on Nov. 29.

Delivery of utility bills delayed

TORONTO — City officials have confirmed delivery of monthly bills for the city’s water, sewer and garbage collections have been delayed because of an undetermined issue with the city’s Post Office.

They said late fees won’t be applied to them this month but that won’t apply to any future delays for the bills, for which payments are due on the 20th of each month.
