Police engage in Christmas effort
MINGO JUNCTION — The Mingo Junction Police Department will hold its Cops and Cruisers for Christmas program for children of families who are in need. Officers will shop for presents with children who are between the ages of 5 and 15 and live in Mingo.
Families can apply at the police station or the water department until Dec. 1. Monetary donations are welcome, officers said. Checks can be made payable to: Mingo Junction Police Department. “Cops and Cruisers for Christmas” should be written in the memo line. Village Police Chief Willie McKenzie III noted 80 children participated in last year’s event.
Center to apply for accreditation
NEW CUMBERLAND — The John D. Rockefeller IV Career Center will apply for reaffirmation of its accreditation with the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education in March.
