Steubenville Police Helping herself: A Maxwell Avenue resident said he woke up to discover a woman “standing next to his bed,” Saturday. He said he told her to leave and she did, but within minutes he began getting notifications that purchases were being made at a nearby business with his Venmo account and he also discovered cash missing from his wallet. Steubenville Police Freeloading: Employees asked police to remove a man from the premises after his card was declined and he refused to leave, Wednesday. They said they’d given the man until noon to clear out and prior to the cutoff he “would come to the front desk and give the receptionist a hard time before going back to his room.” Once the deadline passed they had no contact with him, reporting he remained in the room, “occupying it for free.” When police told him he needed to vacate the premises they said he packed his things and left. Steubenville Police Carrying a grudge: A man reported being harassed by a couple while he waited for a city bus, Tuesday. He told police the couple “threatened to beat him up” because he reported they were causing problems several days ago at a downtown location. Taking walk-ins: A Buena Vista man said someone entered his residence within the past three days and removed multiple items, Tuesday.
