Scouting has always been a big part of my life, and the lives of so many in our area. The organization teaches important life skills in addition to fostering a love for the outdoors. As one can imagine, many changes have been made to scouting over the years since its founding in 1910, especially with programs, merit badges and campsites. In the comedy movie Groundhog Day, TV weatherman Phil Connors is assigned to cover the yearly Groundhog Festival in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. After he arrives, however, he gets stuck in a time loop in which he awakens every morning on the same date, February 2.
