Five Brooke High School juniors attended the West Virginia Rhododendron Girls State Americanism Project held the week of June 7-13 at Davis and Elkins College. The group included Onica Rushing, Andrea Bolen, Ivy Myers, Marley Stotler and Gracie Spitak. They were sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary Units 34 of Wellsburg and 45 of Follansbee and the Bethany Women’s Club. The annual event is presented by the American Legion Auxiliary, Department of West Virginia, to promote faith in democracy and the value of responsible citizenship.
