Library card winners

Winners of the Great Library Draw-Off! contest, which saw area residents creating their own, unique library card design, were announced Thursday afternoon at the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County’s Main Library. Children, teenagers and adults were invited to submit their own library card design throughout March and April. The top 10 submissions were selected and then put up on social media pages Facebook and Instagram for voters to cast their choices from the finalists. More than 200 submissions were received. Approximately 700 votes were cast by the public on the library’s media platforms. The three new cards will debut June 9, in coordination with registration for the summer reading program. Anyone who would like to replace their existing cards can do so at the cost of $2, according to library officials. Contest winners included, from left, Killian McCleary, 8; Victoria Yendo, 17; and Cecelia Coakley, 10.
