Choose life

To the editor: When does life begin? Regardless of opinions, regardless of laws, regardless of constitutions, science confirms that at the very moment of conception, a genetically unique human being is created. This human being is different from any other person in the history of the world, and different from any person who will be created in the future. You and I, and all of the people we know, began our lives at the very moment of conception. With this fact established, then it is also a fact that every abortion ends the life of a unique person. That cannot be disputed. A ...

Vote Brown for Senate

To the editor: If you’re like me, thinking about pumpkins seems like the natural order of things. Take the Great Pumpkin Flood of Nov. 10, 1810, that brought high water to what was then Charlestown, Va. — now Wellsburg, W.Va. However, during her 19-minute photo-op tour, Harris never mentioned the people convicted of crimes in their home country — 13,009 for murder, 1,845 pending murder charges, 15,811 for rape, 10,031 for robbery, 13,423 on weapons charges, 62,231 for assault, 5,221 for kidnapping, 792 for arson and 56,533 for dangerous drugs — she allowed in to commit crimes across America. These people were vetted at the border and let in under Harris’ direction. How many millions got-a-ways are here? ...

Why is this election close?

To the editor: I am really confused why this election is close. I will be voting for someone who would protect our Democracy, human rights, individual privacy and dignity. A leader that shows kindness, empathy, compassion, fairness, equality and integrity. Someone who will protect our children’s safety above weapons, books above bans, education above ignorance, truth over lies, honesty over deceit and will accept all the people without exception. I will not vote for a leader who lies daily to stir hatred and division, wants to get rid of the Constitution or will attempt a coup if ...

That’s where she learned important values like commitment to hard work and to work hard for the betterment of our county and its residents; ...
