To the editor: President Donald Trump has been in office for a little over 200 days. Biden was in office for 1,461 days. Let’s compare their administrations. • Foreign affairs: Biden botched the Afghanistan withdrawal, resulting in the deaths of 13 service members and billions of dollars of equipment being left for the Taliban. To the editor: It now appears quite undeniable that President Trump’s global trade war is beginning to have an alarming negative impact on U.S. businesses, as well as citizens, as the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics recently revealed that only 73,000 jobs were added in the month of July in the United States, and that the second quarter has been recorded as the worst for job growth in our nation, with the exception of the pandemic period, since 2010. To the editor: The famed Steubenville and Weirton fight promoter and matchmaker Don Elbaum passed away on July 27 at the age of 94. He brought the squared circle to local venues, touching the lives of local fighters and fans, including mine. The New York Times bled ink bout his death, recalling his time mentoring Don King after his release from the Mansfield penitentiary, the man who went on to promote the flying fists with young Donald Trump.
