MAGNOLIA — The Catholic Central girls soccer team’s strong season came to an end in the Division V East District championship match Wednesday.
The Crusaders fell, 3-0, to Berlin Hiland. The Hawks will advance to the regional tournament next week.
The Crusaders, who were the No. 3 seed, had upset top seed Bishop Rosecrans on Monday to reach the district final.
They finish the season 10-7-4.
“I want to congratulate the girls on a great season,” Catholic Central head coach Jonathan Hoover said. “Thank you to our five seniors — Lynn Cai, Kenadie Balabin, Isabelle Lee, Mary Rohde and Sophia Hoover.”
The Hawks led 1-0 at halftime and scored twice in the second half to pull away.
Central goalkeeper Addie Long made 12 saves in net to keep the Crusaders in striking distance.
