Guest column/Delivering results for the residents of our region
Fighting for you in Columbus is a great honor. And together, we’ve already delivered victories that put Ohio families — not special interests or Columbus insiders — first.
Last General Assembly, we passed two major laws to protect women and children. The Save Women’s Sports Act guarantees fairness by preventing biological males from competing in girls’ sports. Our daughters train hard, compete fiercely, and deserve a level playing field. Now, they have it.
We also passed the SAFE Act — ending sex-change surgeries for minors. Children should never be pressured into irreversible medical procedures. This should be common sense. Our children deserve time to grow and learn without being treated as political experiments. Thanks to this law, Ohio’s kids are finally protected.
I also wrote and passed the Hospital Price Transparency Act — a first-in-the-nation law. For too long, hospital prices have been hidden behind paperwork and fine print. Now hospitals must post real, dollar-and-cent prices that families can compare. It’s modeled after a policy written by President Trump, and it puts consumers in charge instead of big health care systems. You can learn more at ohiohospitalprices.org.
Growing up in the Ohio Valley, we all heard that Columbus forgets about us — that the big cities get all the attention while our towns get left behind.
I refuse to accept that. So I authored a bill requiring the Ohio Department of Transportation to maintain state roads in Eastern Ohio with the same priority as roads in Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati. Our communities matter, and this law will reflect that.
My latest bill protects the integrity of our elections by requiring a photo ID to vote by mail.
We already require photo ID at the polls — this simply closes a loophole that could be abused. Voting should be easy, and cheating should be impossible. This reform will make Ohio’s elections the most secure in the nation.
As we enter 2026, I’m excited for another year of delivering results, defending Ohio Valley values, and making our community a better place to live, work, and raise a family. Thank you for the opportunity to serve. God bless you, God bless Ohio, and God bless America.
