Daunna J. Moffo, 79, of New Alexandria, OH, passed away Friday April 4, 2025 in the emergency room at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, OH. She was born October 8, 1945 in West Union, WV, a daughter of the late Bernard B. and Clara (Swiger) Ford, Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Moffo; and a granddaughter. Daunna was a homemaker and she also worked at Hills Department Store, Ames and then Walmart. She was a member of Kolmont Community Chapel. Cecilia Petras, of Dearborn, MI (formerly of Southgate), passed away on April 2, 2025, at the Allegria Village Assisted Living. She was 85 years old. She was born in Toronto, OH, and was a 1957 graduate of Toronto High School. Cecilia held a Bachelor’s degree from Ohio University and a Master of Arts degree from Eastern Michigan University. Born on October 4, 1957, in Weirton, WV, Rick was the son of the late Richard A. and Vera Rowland. He was a proud 1980 graduate of Georgia Tech and went on to build a distinguished career as a professional engineer, dedicating 32 years to IBM. James Snider, 74, of New Cumberland, passed away April 3, 2025. He was born October 4, 1951, in Steubenville, the son of the late Hugh and Garnet (Lemasters) Snider. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon (Martin) Snider. James retired from Weirton Steel and also retired from Hancock County Schools where he worked as a bus driver. LaVerne Rochelle Smith, aged 53, passed away on March 2, 2025, in Phoenix, AZ. Born on October 11, 1971, LaVerne completed her education at Weir High School. She leaves behind her son, Joshua; grandson, Juan Marley; her twin sister, LeVonne; and brothers William, Brandon, and Bruce. LaVerne was preceded in death by our mother, Joyce L. Smith. Services were held at Peace Chapel Funeral Home, 3209 E Pinchot Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85018. LaVerne will be remembered fondly by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
