THOMAS “TOOTS” MIECZKOWSKI
Thomas “Toots” Mieczkowski, 86, of Wintersville died Tuesday, November 7, 2023, in Steubenville surrounded by his family. He is the son of the late Anthony and Bernice Zygmuntowski Mieczkowski.
He is also preceded in death by his brother, Anthony “Ziggy” Mieczkowski; brother, Frankie Mieczkowski; and his best buddy and son, Robert “Bobby” Mieczkowski.
Toots was a fervent athlete, graduate of CCHS, avid fisherman, and successful businessman. He was a constant jokester with a competitive spirit and larger than life personality. Toots was a strong pillar of his community who loved his family fiercely. He will be deeply missed.
Surviving him are his loving and devoted wife, Janet “Blondie” Harvilak Mieczkow- ski; daughter, Cynthia Tate; daughter-in-law, Alice Janeshek Mieczkowski; brother, Henry Mieczkowski; sister, Irene (Donald) Yoho; grandchildren, Danielle Tate and Bryan (Courtnie) Tate; and great- grandchildren, Wade and Kahlan Tate.
Toots’ body has been donated to further scientific research and no services will be held at this time.
