RICHARD BYERS

He was born November 28, 1930 in Mingo Junction, OH, a son of the late Paul J. and Anna (Ubrin) Byers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul (Catherine “Kitty”) Byers; and a sister, Bernadette “Bernie” Carpico.

Richard was a self-employed carpenter. He served his country in the U.S. Army and enjoyed telling jokes and stories. Rich was a member and former Elder of the Mingo First United Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his wife, Anita (Swan) Byers, whom he married Dec. 22, 1978; six children, Richard “Rick” (Bonnie) Byers, II of Mesa, AZ, Thomas Byers of Steubenville, OH, Sandra (Ray) Parello of Columbus, OH, Scott (Kristine) Byers of Richmond, OH, Jeff Wallace of Springfield, MO and Kelly Wallace of Mingo Junction, OH; a brother-in-law, Baci Carpico of Mingo Junction, OH; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Avenue, Mingo Junction, OH on Friday December 1st from 2:00 p.m. until the time of his funeral service at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Michael E. Bongart, officiating. Private burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville, OH.
