Medal ceremony planned SMITHFIELD — The Jefferson County Veterans Association will host a formal ceremony revealing the Veterans Administration Medal of Honor headstone for Cpl. Fred B. McGee beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday. CHARLESTON – Several Republican members of the West Virginia Legislature are encouraging the state’s two U.S. senators to back a ban on greyhound racing included in the latest version of the federal farm bill, while two lawmakers from Ohio County expressed support for the industry.
