STEUBENVILLE POLICE Extremely bad break: An officer at a stop sign at South and Fourth streets reported seeing a motorcycle and a vehicle southbound on Seventh Street “at a high rate of speed” Tuesday. He followed the two of them and said the car had stopped and the driver was “throwing items from the vehicle.” The driver, a woman, told police she was following her ex-boyfriend “because they are going through a bad break-up.” Police couldn’t locate him but she ended up picking up the items she’d tossed out of the vehicle. Council changes budget hearings STEUBENVILLE — Due to scheduling conflicts, Steubenville City Council has shuffled its budget hearing lineup. Council, sitting as the finance committee, will hear from Municipal Court, maintenance of repair, sanitation and electric on Tuesday, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Then, on Oct. 20, proposed budgets for engineering, street projects and the water and sewer departments will be pitched beginning at 6 p.m. On Oct. 27, council will hear from the police department as well as parks and recreation.
