Sycamore, Aim to host free spring block party

STEUBENVILLE — The Sycamore Youth Center and Aim Women’s Center are inviting the community to come together for a free Spring Block Party from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at 248 N. Fifth St.

The event, which has become a popular community gathering in recent years, will feature free food, live music and family-friendly activities designed to bring people of all ages together in a positive and welcoming environment.

Attendees will be able to enjoy hot dogs, chips and drinks while taking in a variety of live performances. Scheduled performers include hip hop artists Elisha Fletcher and the Minister of Truth, along with Lydia Battistel, the 2026 Valley’s Got Talent overall champion, and Evan Conn and Elisa Morris, finalists in the Valley’s Got Talent Kids Edition competition. The event will include an inspirational message from Aaron Ashby.

Organizers say the goal of the block party is to strengthen community connections while providing a safe and uplifting space for families.

“We always look forward to these events because they bring people together in such a positive way,” said Bobbyjon Bauman, executive director of the Sycamore Youth Center. “It’s an opportunity for families to come out, enjoy great music and food, and experience the kind of community we’re working to build here every day. We want people to feel welcomed, encouraged and connected.”

Bauman noted the event reflects the broader mission of the Sycamore Youth Center, which serves hundreds of students weekly through free after-school programming.

Rebekah Cohen Morris, executive director of the Aim Women’s Center, said the partnership between the organizations continues to create meaningful opportunities for outreach.

“This block party is a great example of what happens when organizations come together to serve the community,” Cohen Morris said. “We love seeing families gather, kids having fun and people building relationships. It’s a simple event, but it can have a lasting impact.”

The Spring Block Party is free and open to the public. Organizers encourage community members to bring their families and invite friends to attend.
