WVU Medicine Weirton Medical Center welcomed its first two babies of 2026 Friday, with the birth of Amaria, left, daughter of Kaylee Yeater and Bryan Barr of Follansbee at 12:56 a.m., followed half an hour later by the arrival of Eli, son of Jeremy and Madison Whitney of Bloomingdale. The Ohio Valley’s official New Year’s baby, Beekon Ray Meade, was born at WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital on Thursday, the son of Brooke and Phillip Meade of Woodsfield.
