Portion of North 12th Street to close

WEIRTON — A portion of North 12th Street, from Thurmond Avenue to Kings Creek Road, will be closed for repair and maintenance from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, according to the Weirton Public Works Department.

Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly.

Madonna homecoming parade set

WEIRTON — Madonna High School will hold its homecoming parade, beginning at 5 p.m., Oct. 24.

To accommodate the parade, traffic will be closed on Penco Road for approximately 30 minutes. Detours will be established using Pennsylvania Avenue and Cove Road.

JVS board to meet

BLOOMINGDALE — The board of Education for the Jefferson County Joint Vocational School will hold its regular meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The meeting will be held in the boardroom at the JVS.
