Special meeting in Knox Township

TORONTO — The Knox Township board of trustees will hold a special meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday to take time-sensitive action on grant funding for road repairs.

The meeting will be held at the township office, 25 township Road 247, Toronto.

Brooke board to hold hearings

WELLSBURG – The Brooke County Board of Education will meet in special session for the purpose of conducting two student disciplinary hearings.

The meeting has been scheduled for 6 p.m., Monday, at the board office, 1201 Pleasant Ave., Wellsburg.

County Road 29 closure set

STEUBENVILLE — The Jefferson County Engineer’s Department will be closing a portion of County Road 29 (McLister Road) from 7 a.m. Monday until 4 p.m. Tuesday for asphalt repairs.

There will be no through traffic.

State Route 27 delays possible

WELLSBURG — A portion of state Route 27, Washington Pike will be restricted to one lane from milepost 3.2 to milepost 3.8, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning Monday for sewer line installation.

Flaggers will maintain traffic. Motorists are advised to slow down and expect delays. The work is expected to be completed in November.

Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.

Jefferson County road work set

STEUBENVILLE — Next week’s schedule for the Jefferson County Engineer’s Office includes:

• Spot paving: County Roads 65 (Rinker Road), 56 (Costonia-Mount Tabor Road) and 29 (McLister Road — the road will be closed from 7 a.m. Monday until 4 p.m. Tuesday)

• Bridge replacement: County Road 11 (Piney Fork Road), Knox Township Road 289 and Springfield Township Road 472 (Ridgewood)

• Contract tree trimming: County Road 53 (Bergholz-New Somerset Road)

Hancock board to discuss finances

NEW CUMBERLAND – The Hancock County Board of Education will meet in special session Tuesday for discussions on the financial status of the district and review its compliance with the West Virginia Department of Education.

The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, at the John D. Rockefeller IV Career Center.

Solid waste board to meet

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The Jefferson-Belmont Regional Solid Waste Authority Board will hold its regular monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Belmont JBGT building, 67895 Pickering Road.

Meetings also are always posted on our website at jbgreenteam.org/meetings-minutes. All meetings are subject to change, and updated information is available by contacting the board’s office.

General board meetings are open to the public.

Traffic to be restricted

BETHANY — Lazear-Wilhelm Road, also known as County Route 28/4, will be temporarily restricted Tuesday and Wednesday for road maintenance.

Restrictions will be scheduled for 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., each day, with traffic maintained by flaggers. Motorists are advised to expect delays.

Library board to meet

STEUBENVILLE — The board of trustees of the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County will hold its monthly meeting at 4 p.m. Oct. 14.

The meeting will be held at the Main Library, 407 S. Fourth St.

Brooke Hills Park to host craft fair

WELLSBURG — KC Productions will present a craft fair from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 11 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 12 at Brooke Hills Park.

The first Fall Fest in the Hills is expected to include more than 100 crafters and food trucks.

Kevin Carroll of KC Productions has teamed with Moe’s on Main of Follansbee in recent years to expand the Follansbee business to include goods produced in Amish country and sold through his A Touch of Amish business.

The park is on state Route 27 about 5 miles east of state Route 2 in Wellsburg.
