A special occasion

Artistry, a Pittsburgh area band, performed a mix of funk, soul and rhythm and blues for the many attending the Juneteenth celebration Saturday at Steubenville’s North End Park. The park and a section of North Seventh Street were the site of food and other vendors and activities for children as well as health-related information, including demonstrations of cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It was part of a weekend commemorating the end of slavery in the United States and included activities at Second Baptist Church of Steubenville and the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center. — Warren Scott
