Robinson named local Trooper of the Year
STEUBENVILLE — Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Brody Robinson has been named the Steubenville Post’s Trooper of the Year for the third consecutive year.
Lt. Robert Bodo, the post’s commander, said Robinson was selected for the honor by his fellow officers for his leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiasm for his job and cooperation with supervisors, peers and the public.
He is among candidates for District Trooper of the Year, an honor he received last year.
Selection of District Trooper of the Year involves interviews by a panel of district officers, and the winner will be named at a later date.
A native of Carrollton and a 2016 graduate of Carrollton High School, Robinson was appointed to the Steubenville post in 2020, following his graduation from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy.
The son of an Army veteran who served in Operation Desert Storm, he said he’s had respect for those in the military and law enforcement from an early age.
But he said a fatal accident involving his best friend, Conner Keane, following their graduation from high school, ultimately led to his joining the Highway Patrol.
Robinson said he had been unable to revive Keane, the victim of an accident involving an all-terrain vehicle, and sought to prevent such incidents in the future.
He lives in Carrollton with his wife and their two sons.
