Meetings set in Mingo Junction

MINGO JUNCTION — Mingo Junction Village Council has scheduled a safety committee meeting Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Council’s regular business meeting will follow at 7 p.m.

Both meetings will be held in council chambers, 501 Commercial Street.

Events planned at PLSJC

STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County has several events planned for the coming weeks at several of its branches.

At the main library, adults can mimic the look of stained glass with faux techniques on March 18 at 5:30 p.m. Registration needed to participate. Children can pick up a Grab-and-Go craft starting March 18 while supplies last. Bags will contain supplies to make a spring craft. For more information, call 740-282-9782.

At the Adena branch, adults can paint a seasonal scene on March 21 at 1 p.m. snacks and drinks will be provided during the Paint ‘n Sip. Register to unleash your creativity at the library. For children, Play and Learn the Alphabet will be on March 16 at 11:30 a.m. It’s for parents of children ages 2-4 to play with toys that promote alphabet knowledge. Registration is required. They can also make a dancing Leprechaun marionette on March 16 at 5:30 p.m. Registration needed to participate. For more information, call 740-320-0009.

At the Brilliant branch, this month’s children Grab-and-Go craft includes supplies to make a craft related to the “Very Hungry Caterpillar” book by Eric Carle. It’s available starting March 20, while supplies last. For more information, call 740-314-4309.

At the Dillonvale-Mount Pleasant branch, the adults’ Book Club will discuss “The Glass Castle: A Memoir” by Jeannette Walls on March 17 at 10 a.m. Call to meet new people and engage in conversation. For children, Play and Learn the Alphabet will be on March 19 at 11:30 a.m. It’s for parents of children ages 2-4 to play with toys that promote alphabet knowledge. Registration is required. At the Schiappa branch, all ages and abilities are welcome to Open Art Night on March 17 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Bring art supplies or use the library’s to draw, color or paint. This program is in partnership with the Jefferson County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Children can stop by to Play and Learn the Alphabet that will be on March 19 at 5 p.m. and on March 20 at 10 a.m. It’s for parents of children ages 2-4 to play with toys that promote alphabet knowledge. At the Tiltonsville branch, adults can play Uno on March 19 at 5:30 p.m. Register to play this popular card game at the library. This month’s Grab-and-Go craft for children includes supplies to make a craft related to the “Very Hungry Caterpillar” book by Eric Carle. It’s available starting March 20 while supplies last.
