Pittsburgh Public Theater offering summer sessions
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Public Theater is accepting registrations for summer sessions.
From first-time storytellers to experienced actors, this season’s lineup is offering something for every creative mind.
Student camps and classes will be offered for children ages 6 through 17.
Classes will include: Auditioning for the Student Actor, three-day course, age 15-17, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 16-18, $160; Shakespeare Remix: Classics with a Twist, ages 12-14, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 22-26; Unleash Your Creativity: Write it, Act it, Own it, ages 12-14, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 29-July 3; Shakespeare Shenanigans: Comedy, Chaos and Characters, ages 9-11, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 6-10; Acting Techniques for Kids, ages 9-11, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 13-17; and Once Upon a Stage: Fairy Tales Come to Life, ages 6-8, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 20-24.
With the exception of the three-day student actor course, all of the classes offer an all-week aftercare available from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. for an additional $75 per student. A final showcase for friends and family will be held from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the final day of the class.
Adult classes include: Acting 101, 9 a.m. to noon on June 27-28; Scene Study, 9 a.m. to noon on July 11-12; and Approaching Shakespeare, 9 a.m. to noon on July 18-19.
