Pirates mascots visit theater
The Pittsburgh Pirates Parrot and Pierogies visited the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater to join in a rehearsal for the theater’s upcoming baseball ballet, “The Mighty Casey,” along with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater dancers. The mascots learned various ballet moves, taught the dancers how to play baseball and participated in some zany antics together, according to theater officials. “The Mighty Casey” is a family-oriented baseball ballet based on the well-known poems “Casey at the Bat,” and “Casey — 20 Years Later.” The ballet is part of the theater’s America 250 with the PBT Orchestra production, celebrating America’s birthday with four Americana-themed ballet works. The production will run from Feb. 20-22 at the Bendum Center. Visit PBT.org for tickets and information.
