Auxiliary set for uniform sale
WEIRTON — The Weirton Medical Center Auxiliary is planning a two-day sale of Robert’s Medical Uniforms for anyone interested in helping to support this fundraiser.
The sale will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday in the atrium lobby of WMC. A variety of fashion styles and brands will be featured.
PERI to meet
STEUBENVILLE — The Jefferson County Chapter of Public Employees Retirement Inc. will hold its next meeting at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday in the Fiesta Room of Froehlich’s Classic Corner, located at 501 Washington St. in Steubenville.
Veterans commission to meet
STEUBENVILLE — The regular monthly meeting of the Veterans Service Commission of Jefferson County will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. The meeting will take place at 500 Market St., Suite 310 in Steubenville.
All veterans and interested parties are welcome to attend.
Seven Ranges district to meet
WINTERSVILLE — The Seven Ranges Joint Fire District will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the 911 building, located at 300 Airport Road in Wintersville.
The reorganization meeting will immediately follow, according to officials.
Storytime planned at library
WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Public Library will hold its Evening Storytime with Miss Kim at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Children can enjoy listening to the story “The Trouble With Children (According to Dog,)” make a craft, eat snacks and take part in a fun evening. Limited spaces are available.

‘Elio’ to be shown at library
WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Public Library will show the film “Elio,” rated PG, at 5 p.m. Thursday.
The movie follows Elio, who struggles to fit in until he is transported by aliens and becomes the chosen one to be Earth’s galactic ambassador. Elio’s mother, Olga, works on the top secret project to decode alien messages.
Popcorn and water will be provided to guests attending the free screening.

Railroaders to hold meeting
CALCUTTA — All retired and active railroaders are invited to attend the next meeting of the National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees.

Library to show movie
WELLSBURG — The Follansbee Library will show the movie “Soul On Fire,” at noon on Friday.
The PG-rated film follows a horrific accident which has left a young boy’s body scarred, as he strives to live and show everyone what is possible through the help of his family, his faith and the entire city of St. Louis.
Attendees are permitted to bring a lunch to eat while watching the movie. Popcorn and water will be provided.

Newview CEOS Club meets
NEW CUMBERLAND — The Newview Community Educational Outreach Service Club held its first meeting of the year at the Hancock County Senior Citizens Center, located on Gas Valley Road in News Cumberland.
Discussion centered around possible community service projects for the upcoming year.
Along with traditional projects, including donating to the Baby Safety Shower, sending greeting cards to residents in a local nursing home and donating supplies or monetary support to the 4-H All Stars, the club is looking for additional ideas.
The next meeting is scheduled to be held at noon on Feb. 4 following lunch at the center.
The lesson will be about the history of pastry pie, focusing predominately on how to make a good pie crust, as well as offering some options for sweet or savory fillings.
Area residents are welcome to attend any of the club meetings, officials stated.
While the meeting and lesson are free of charge, anyone wanting to join club members for lunch will need to pay the senior center’s fee of $7 per meal.
The Community Educational Outreach Service is a West Virginia University Extension-supported membership organization open to the public, with a focus on member education and community service.

Council reschedules meeting
RICHMOND — The village of Richmond has rescheduled its regular council meeting in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
Council will now meet at 7 p.m. Jan. 20 at the city building, located at 37 W. Main Street in Richmond.
