School to put on talent show
WHEELING — As Wheeling Park High School approaches its 50th anniversary this year, the Class of 1979 has been collaborating with Principal Meredith Dailer regarding an upcoming landmark event.
The school is planning a grand, inter-generational fundraising talent show.
According to the class, the school will welcome performers from every era of the school’s storied history.
This premier talent event has been uniquely designed to bridge the generations of the school.
The stage will be open to those who are current students and to all former alumni throughout the past 50 years.
All classes will have the opportunity to participate in an evening which promises to be one of inspiration, entertainment and lasting memories, according to event organizers.
“We warmly encourage every patriot — past and present — to step into the spotlight and help make this milestone celebration truly spectacular,” organizers added.
The show has been scheduled to take place March 20 at Wheeling Park High School.
Two audition dates are planned, with the first scheduled for 3 p.m. on Feb. 17 at the J.B. Chambers Performing Arts Center. The second audition date is set for 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 21 at the Towngate Theater.
The show’s first-place finisher will receive $200; second place will receive $100; and third place, $75.
Adding to the excitement of the evening will be a 50/50 drawing. Drawing tickets will be available in advance, at the door and during intermission. The winner will be announced at the conclusion of the show.
Community leaders will serve as guest judges, bringing professional insight and enthusiasm to the competition.
Proceeds will support the 50th reunion of the school’s Class of ’79.
Audition guidelines and registration forms are available on Park’s Got Talent 2026’s Facebook page.
