Sources of Strength induction

Twenty-two students were inducted into the Jefferson County Vocational School’s Sources of Strength organization, which encourages building strong connections and spreading hope, help and strength. The initiative began in 2022, when officials underwent training for the universal suicide prevention program, which combines advisers with peer leaders to empower fellow students. Sources of Strength builds positive influences to reduce the likelihood of suicide and touches upon the subjects of bullying, violence and substance abuse. Activities will take place every month, including an annual Color Bash set for May. This year’s officers include Tucker Winski, president; Alex Fundersol, vice president; Rylie Viers, secretary; and Avery Patterson, treasurer. The club is led by Superviser and Assistant Principal Gabrielle Saltsman, along with mental health counselor Megan Jarvis.
