Trunk-or-treat set at Cross Creek
WINTERSVILLE — Pupils attending Cross Creek Elementary School will have the opportunity to dress up in costumes and collect candy during a special trunk-or-treat event set for Wednesday at the school.
Preschoolers, kindergarteners and first-graders will begin the event at 5 p.m. Those enrolled in second through fourth grade will begin collecting candy at 6 p.m. The trunk-or-treat is open to students attending Cross Creek Elementary as a way to celebrate the fall holiday season.
School counselor Brittany Shank stated, “This is our first year having it and we are looking forward to connecting with our community in this way. There are currently 16 trunks involved with staff, and a trunk that includes our Parent Teacher Organization board.”
Shank said the activity was established by a newly-created committee designed to implement ideas with students in mind.
“We actually created a Sunshine Squad at CCE at the end of last school year, including multiple staff members,” Shank explained. “We come together to organize activities and events, such as this, to create memorable events for our students. Overall, we hope to spread positivity and sunshine among CCE. This is just one of the ways we are doing it.”
