Old iron show this weekend
MINGO JUNCTION — The 22nd-annual Old Construction and Mining Equipment Show and the 8th-annual Appalachian Ohio Antique Power Show will be held Oct. 25-26 at 761 Scott Featner Road in Mingo Junction. Show hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 per person. Food vendors will be on site. Anyone wanting to bring their equipment in prior to the start of the show can do so today.
On hand will be construction and mining equipment, farm tractors, machinery, trucks, garden tractors, hit and miss, oil field engines and working and static displays. Antique trucks, construction and mining will be on static display and operating throughout the weekend. Organizations to be displayed include equipment-owned members of the Ohio Valley Chapter of the Historical Construction Equipment Association, the Historical Construction Equipment Association and Yellow Power Caterpillar + Community.
For the first time in the show’s history, the event’s show will feature Caterpillar, celebrating the 100th anniversary of its merger — which led Best and Holt to form Caterpillar in 1926. Laughs coming to church
RICHMOND — Those looking for an evening of laughter and entertainment can mark their calendars for 7 p.m. Nov. 8, for that is when the Funny Together Tour will be coming to Richmond. The clean comedy show featuring national touring comedians will make a stop at Richmond Methodist Church, located at 112 S. Sugar St. The show will run from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Although the event is still a month away, tickets are on sale at funnytogethertour.com. The event will feature three comedians known for their hilarious, clean stand-up, including Rhonda Corey, Gordon Douglas and Leslie Rob.
Corey is an award-winning comic whose quick wit and relatable stories connect with audiences everywhere. Douglas is a veteran comedian who mixes clever humor with uplifting messages. Rob is a high-energy performer with fresh, laugh-out-loud takes on everyday life. The evening promises plenty of smiles, laughs and good, clean fun for the community, organizers announced. The show is recommended for those 15 and older.
WE CARE to meet Saturday
STEUBENVILLE — Area youth 4 to 18 are invited to attend the new organizational program WE CARE, led by Steubenville resident Dawud Abdullah-Hampton. The session will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the War Memorial Building, located at 423 North St. in Steubenville, next to the fire station.
Working Endlessly, Creating Avenues Responsible for Elevation is its title, which offers an opportunity to follow paths you’re interested in, including dancing, acting and singing. All are welcome to attend.
