Sycamore and Aim to hold community party

BLOCK PARTY — The Sycamore Youth Center and the Aim Women’s Center in Steubenville, are coming together to hold a free Community Block Party from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday on the green space at the corner of North and Fifth streets. STEUBENVILLE — The Sycamore Youth Center and Aim Women’s Center are coming together once again to bring the community another free Community Block Party event.
The party will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday on the green space at the corner of North and Fifth streets.
The event will be open to all area residents of any age, and promises to be a fun-filled afternoon for the entire family, according to Bobbyjon Bauman, executive director of the Sycamore Youth Center. Skylar Sobanski will be the mistress of ceremonies for the event.
Those attending will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of activities, including inflatables for children and free hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, drinks, snow cones and cotton candy.
The festivities will include several young artists who will perform and entertain throughout the afternoon.
Those scheduled to perform include, Gene “Minister of Truth” Shelby, Elisha Fletcher, Lawrence Lewis, Evan Conn, Cooper Crowe, Mighty Disciples Mime Team, Next Level Community Choir, Lynzee Ensell and Dance Force Elite Rising Stars.
“This event is all about bringing the community together, celebrating the incredible talents of our local youth and sharing the services that Aim and Sycamore provide for families in our area,” Bauman said. “We’re excited to offer a day where families can connect, have fun and be encouraged.”
Rebekah Cohen Morris, executive director of the Aim Women’s Center, added, “Our goal is to bless the community with a day of free fun, music, food and fellowship. We want everyone to feel welcome and know that they are loved and valued.”
