Harding Middle School to hold bingo night
STEUBENVILLE — Harding Middle School will hold its first Community Bingo Night from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 26.
The fundraiser and get-together will take place inside the school’s cafeteria.
The event is being hosted by leaders of the school’s Solutions team, with proceeds to benefit school activities, including dances and award incentives through the program Positive Interventions and Supports.
Sixth-grade teacher Tracy Ziarko leads a parent and family involvement team at Harding.
She explained the purpose of the bingo night is to bring together those at the school and members of the community.
“This is the first time we have done a bingo night,” Ziarko exclaimed. She noted the event is being hosted as a means of community involvement.
“We feel it is important that our community see our school and interact with students and staff, as well as other community members,” she commented.
Admission to the event will be free of charge, with cards costing $1 per game. An unlimited amount of cards can be purchased.
A drawing also will take place during the evening, with the winner to receive a Harding Middle School spirit gear basket. Tickets for the basket drawing will be available for purchase during the evening.
“We are planning several bingo games with winners to be awarded cash prizes and various gift cards,” Ziarko stated. “There will be a small meal available for guests, that will consist of a sandwich, soup, a cookie and coffee or water.”
Ziarko said she is optimistic the venue will attract local participants enough that it will become an annual event for the school.
“We are hopeful that we will have a good number of people come out to support us,” she concluded. “We hope we can attract positive energy and have a fun evening with our community.”
