WEIRTON — Madonna High School inducted eight new members into its Hall of Fame during an induction ceremony held Oct. 5 at Williams Golf and Country Club.

Lisa Conti, Class of ’75 and Hall of Fame Class of 2020, was the mistress of ceremonies for the evening.

Those in attendance reminisced of their time as a student, teacher, coach and volunteer at Madonna while viewing a presentation that included photos of inductees and their families. The new members received a plaque. A commemorative panel was added to the school’s Hall of Fame wall. Organizers thanked Starvaggi Charities, Weirton Medical Center, James White Construction Co., Hancock County Savings Bank and Michael and Robin Nogay for their financial support.

This year’s class consisted of Leah Alexandra Comis, Class of ’06; Jason D’Alesio, Class of ’96; and Max Nogay, Class of ’10, who were inducted in the category of athletic excellence. Raymond L. Kaczynski was posthumously honored, along with Joseph J. LaMantia Jr., Class of ’69, and Jean Shotting, who were inducted in the category of school service. John Lesho Sr., Class of ’59, was inducted in the category of coaching excellence; and Luke R. Myers, Class of ’03, was inducted in the category of stewardship.

The Madonna High School Hall of Fame exists to recognize outstanding alumni and school supporters for their significant achievements and contributions to the school, officials stated.

“These individuals and organizations provide a source of pride and distinction to the Madonna Family,” officials commented. “These role models also present an inspiration and incentive for current and future students.” Nominations for the Class of 2026 will be accepted beginning in the fall of 2025.
