One of a chain of family-owned and run stores, it offers an assortment of tobacco and vape products, wine, beer and liquor.

FOLLANSBEE — Smoker Friendly Liquor Plus has added a location at 1429 Main St. to its chain of tobacco and vape stores.

The Brooke County Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed the store to the Follansbee Plaza along state Route 2 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“The community has been wonderful,” Becky Panebianco, a Steubenville native who manages the store, said of local support since it opened.

Regional manager Joe Downing said it is one of 48 stores in a family-owned and operated chain in West Virginia, Ohio and Maryland that was established in 1997.

Panebianco said the store, a former Subway restaurant, underwent major renovations from the floor to the ceiling to accommodate four large coolers of beer and other beverages and four long shelves of assorted liquor brands, all approved by the state Alcohol and Beverage Control Administration.

She noted the store also sells a wide range of tobacco and vape products as well as legal cannabis-related products.

Customers may sign up for a loyalty program through which they earn points for each dollar spent. Members are also entered into a monthly drawing to determine the Customer of the Month, who receives a $100 Smoker Friendly gift card.

“That’s been a big hit with people,” Panebianco said.

She also noted there is a 5 percent discount on eligible products for active military personnel.
