Her husband came out of the house and told deputies he’d seen the homeowner push her down before “picking up a shovel and attempting to come at him,” so he grabbed a sledgehammer “to protect himself.” The female wants to pursue charges against the homeowner, who said her husband “threatened him with the sledgehammer prior to (him) picking up a shovel to defend himself.” The homeowner’s son told deputies nobody laid hands on the female and said she had approached the older man “while yelling in close proximity to his face.” The homeowner said he told her if the two of them “did not want to help clean the house they can get … out.” He also admitted referring to her by a derogatory term and said at one point he’d tried to walk away but she “ran around him to try and block his path and … tripped.” He said her husband “came out of the back bedroom to her defense” with a small sledgehammer in his hand and believed he was going to hit him with it so he grabbed a shovel.
