Steubenville Police

No place to go: Two people reported seeing a man “slumped over the wheel of a dark pickup truck” at the Steubenville Marina, Monday. They said he’d been there for some time, and when the police arrived, they found him “hunched forward in the driver’s seat.” After they stirred him, the man said he is “currently homeless and living out of the truck.”

Wet blanket: A man sharing a tent in the North End with a female said she took his phone and wouldn’t give it back, Tuesday. He said he was sleeping when he was “awoken (by the woman) urinating on the bed and (him.)” Police said when they went to the tent the male told them he’d found the phone and showed (them) it and the box it came in.

Last man standing: An officer on patrol spotted three people who appeared to be fishing items out of dumpsters in the 200 block of North Seventh Street, Tuesday. Two of them were gone when police pulled up, but the man who was still there was advised he needed to clean the ess up “due to him being the only person (who was) still there.”

Two-fer: Two Pennsylvania residents are facing charges after a traffic stop in the 100 block of South Fourth Street for an expired registration, Tuesday. Police said Helen Stella, 507 Eldersville Road, Burgettstown, was issued a summons for misdemeanor drug possession after they allegedly found several Carisoprodol pills in her bag for which she had no prescription. Her passenger, Russell Lynch, 643 Joffre Cherry Valley Road, Burgettstown, was served with a warrant for petit theft.

Donnybrook: A caller reported seeing a couple physically fighting in the 600 block of Slack Street, Wednesday. The caller said the pair was last seen walking toward Hill Avenue. Police were unable to locate them.

Missing: A South Fifth Street resident said a silver box containing baseball and football cards that he’d left on his sofa was missing, Tuesday. He told police the box “contained several … cards in plastic containers that he valued at around $10,000.”

Porch pirate: A Sunset Boulevard resident said she has video of a man creeping up on her porch and stealing a package that had been left there, Monday. She said she isn’t sure what was in the package.
