Police reports

Jefferson County sheriff

Booked: A Tiltonsville woman said her boyfriend hit the side of her face and tried to pull a gun on her during an argument, Wednesday. Deputies charged Shane Kutys, 25, 217 Mound St., with domestic violence after the woman told them he’d been drinking and punched her, threatened to burn her things and kill her animals. She said she fled when he went to the closet and reached down toward the floor, where he kept his gun safe.

Much ado about nothing: A 33-year-old Tiltonsville man called 911, screaming at a dispatcher that a man and woman he’d let into his home had stolen his cell phone, Wednesday. The dispatcher had trouble getting information because the man “kept interrupting and screaming at her,” deputies noted. When the deputy arrived, the man said there was no need for him to speak with the two people because he got his phone back.

Booked: Sara Carrierk, 47, 49 Township Road 1285, Richmond, theft, Wednesday.

Steubenville police

Worrysome: Police found a handgun in an unoccupied SUV parked in the 600 block of Franklin Avenue shortly before midnight, Wednesday. Initially, a man who “possibly” had a gun in his lap was seen sitting in the vehicle with the driver’s side door open and several other people standing around the vehicle, but when police arrived the SUV was unoccupied and the gun was laying on the seat. The owner of the vehicle is in prison, and it’s not known who drove the car to the location, police reported. While checking the immediate area, officers found a loaded Ruger LSR .380 in a box on the ground next to a blue Dodge Charger which was also unoccupied. It was seized.

Batty: A Euclid Avenue resident told police she had a bat in her bathroom, Wednesday. They couldn’t find it.
