CALCUTTA - Gene and Betty Ankrom of Calcutta celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 23. A family dinner was held Feb. 16 at the East Liverpool Motor Lodge.They were united in marriage on Feb. 23, 1963, at the Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. Charles Thorman.Gene is the son of the late Earl and Inez Ankrom, and Betty is the daughter of the late William and Caroline Heupp.They have three children: Scott of Baltimore; DeAnna Campbell of Gilbert, Ariz.; and Dawn Burgess of Rootstown. They also have two grandchildren.
