How could anyone vote for Trump?

To the editor: How could anyone vote for Donald Trump when they know what he said about our military veterans? In 2017, at Arlington National Cemetery, he claimed John McCain was not a hero, but a loser for getting shot down and captured. In 2018, he was in France for the anniversary of the end of World War I. He would not visit the American cemetery because it was “filled with the suckers” who got killed. Irondale says thanks to JB Green Team

To the editor: On behalf of Irondale and the Village Council, we would like to thank the JB Green Team for the Community Recycle Grant it awarded us to purchase a recycled plywood picnic table with benches. The table is in place at the Irondale Park. We acknowledged and dedicated the placement and use of it on Friday to improve the use and function of our park for all of our residents and visitors. Circus stop a great evening

To the editor: The Flotsam Ohio River Floating Circus Tour made its stop in Steubenville on Aug. 21. At some point, a request was offered to include the Steubenville Marina in its 2024 river tour. Not factual but believed, Steubenville declined to participate due to safety issues. Viewers, including small children, understandingly, could be a liability concern. The Harmonium Project and Nelson family were persistent in making this happen. Steve Vukelic graciously offered his riverfront property. Looking at generational wealth

To the editor: When Michelle Obama spoke at the Democratic National Convention, she said “that most of us will never be afforded the grace of failing forward … we will never benefit from the affirmative action of generational wealth.” What is generational wealth? It refers to financial assets that are passed down through families to children and grandchildren, etc. In small towns across the upper Ohio Valley, grandparents, parents and extended family members are followed to numerous fields to see youngsters perform in countless athletic events.
