Sunrise Seniors welcome committee members

TORONTO — The March 27 meeting of Toronto Sunrise Seniors was called to order by President Barbara Pritts who welcomed guests from the Toronto Beautification Committee. Following dinner, Cathie Thomas, Lauren White, and Tammi Middleton were introduced by Social Secretary Mary Anne Landerfield. The ladies spoke to the group about the goals and efforts of the TBC. Signature process begins to ban large data centers in Ohio

Sponsors of a proposed constitutional amendment that would ban the construction of any new large data centers in Ohio have cleared another hurdle in getting the question to voters this November. After a review, the Ohio Ballot Board confirmed the data center proposal contains only one proposed constitutional amendment, complying with state law. Now comes the hard part. Brooke teachers are state officers WELLSBURG — Two Brooke County math teachers have secured seats on the West Virginia Council of Teachers of Mathematics board following elections held at the organization’s annual conference. Dana Stoll, a math teacher at Brooke Middle School, was re-elected vice president of elementary, and Karen Keener, who teaches math at Brooke High School, was elected vice president of secondary, joining the board for her first term. Police Beat Steubenville Waffling: Someone reported a disturbance in the mall parking lot “involving a firearm” Sunday, but the individuals involved told police no one had a gun. A female said four male juveniles who had accompanied her were in her car waiting for her and when she got there, “more individuals were banging on her car windows yelling at them.” Police searched the vehicle and did not locate any guns.
