Shooting suspect arrested

STEUBENVILLE — A Steubenville man is in custody in Pennsylvania and faces charges in connection with a Tuesday evening shooting on Hollywood Boulevard that left another man injured and prompted a multi-agency investigation.

Police Chief Ken Anderson said Deonbre Bailey-Anderson, 24, was taken into custody Wednesday with assistance from the Pittsburgh, Allegheny County and Swissvale police departments. Bailey-Anderson is being charged with having a weapon under disability, Anderson said.

“Our detectives determined that the incident stemmed from an altercation between multiple subjects who knew one another,” he said. “The incident remains under investigation and additional subjects may be charged.”

Bailey-Anderson being held in the Allegheny County Jail pending extradition to Ohio.

“The arrest would not have been possible without the hard work of our officers at the scene, investigators and the cooperation of the Pennsylvania authorities,” the chief said.

Police received reports of shots fired around 6 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Hollywood Boulevard. Shortly after, authorities were alerted that a man had arrived at Trinity West emergency room with a gunshot wound. The victim was later transported to a Pittsburgh hospital for additional treatment. Officials said his injury was not life-threatening and he has since been released.
