Community rallies around Bridgeport students injured in crash

LANSING — Two Bridgeport High School students were involved in a serious motor vehicle wreck Wednesday evening on U.S. Route 40 in Pease Township. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a 1999 BMW 232i was traveling westbound on Route 40. As it negotiated a right curve, the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a curb, an embankment and eventually a utility pole. Jefferson County groups receive grants JEFFERSON COUNTY — Two Jefferson County nonprofit organizations have received grants through the Dale Hileman Legacy Fund and the Donald R. Myers Legacy Fund to Support Partnership in Appalachian Ohio. The United Way of Jefferson County was awarded a $750 grant from the Dale Hileman Legacy Fund.
